Season

2021-2022

Lights Up!’s debut season opened with a production of Angie! By Don Zolidis. “When Mya gets cast as the dog's understudy in her high school production of Annie, she snaps so spectacularly that she winds up in the Fine Arts Magnet Juvenile Detention Facility. Now she's trapped with the chronically insecure Warden Jessica, a poet named Psychoface, and a new girl named Angie who seems a little... strange. Or possibly just British. But Mya sees her chance for the sun to come out tomorrow for real when she learns that a billionaire's on his way to adopt a kid for Christmas--and realizes that Angie's a dead ringer for a certain adorable orphan. A perfect plan, except that Angie thinks she's in another musical altogether and keeps trying to cook people into meat pies. Oh, and the billionaire just got elected president”

Angie! played October 1st-3rd, 2021

Angie! proved to the Lights Up! Team that Jackson was ready for more theatre. Later that year we held a “Broadway By The Tree” fundraiser concert to help provide funds for two upcoming productions. Yoo-Hoo and Hank Williams was schedule to play in January 2022 concluding our first season, but was cancelled due to an ongoing snow storm that kept Jacksonians locked up for a week.
